In the first published book in a planned series on today's troubled Iran,
Iran: Harsh Arm of Islam, the author sets out to bulldoze what he considers to be the most far-reaching and destructive of all travesties created by men. As he puts it:

"It is not my intention to trash Islam, but to demonstrate that Shiite beliefs are irrational to nauseating heights. If the world's Shiites wish to continue believing in the deceptive teachings of Iran's Shiite ayatollahs after reading this book, that is their privilege. However, in the age of global information available to all through the Internet, I feel certain they will find it difficult to convince their children that the Shiite Islam is a religion to follow."

Mr. Hassan believes that tomorrow’s Islam has already been born, It is being nurtured today within the framework of American democracy. This new Islam, an  Americanized Islam, will serve as a model for global Islam. It is not so much the wisdom of American Islam leaders today that is shaping the Islam of the future; it is the American democracy that is shaping a new, inspiring Islam. He believes that the Islam of submission and superstition, practiced by the Shiites of Iran in the 21st century, is on its last leg. The Muslims of the world, particularly Iran’s Shiites, are screaming for democracy, knowledge, up-to-date information and freedom. However, their cries are being muted by jail, torture and hangings, perpetrated by the Islamic leaders. Nonetheless, ready or not, democracy is marching and is going to engulf the Middle East.

The author wants a return to the progressive thinking that was once a source of great pride among Persian peoples, a time when women played polo alongside men, when they rode horses, appeared proudly in public without head to toe covering. A time when an errant wisp of hair flying out of a chador did not condemn a woman to public beating. A time when fun, in the form of music, dance and other entertainments, was not forbidden, a time when books and intellectuals were not abolished.

Iran: Harsh Arm of Islam offers an unvarnished portrait of today’s Shiite religion, the past Shiite imams, including Imam Khomeini, and the struggle of today’s non-Islamic Iranians. In the book, Mr. Hassan vividly and accurately describes a conspiracy among Islamic leaders against Iranians and non-Islamic peoples around the world, a harsh, medieval dogma being practiced in the name of religion.

This lively and compelling book is a product of nearly a decade of research and reflection on the relation and the polarization between secular-minded Iranians and the Arab Iranian clergy. It shows the lack of patriotism toward Iran and the Islamic institutions' loyalty to the sands of Arabia.

The book's well documented critiques and recommendations are credible and deserve serious consideration. Among many suggestions for change, the author calls for Iranians to shun the Arab ethos.

The compassionate God of Persia, who celebrated women, children and fine culture, who decreed See no evil, hear no evil, say no evil, was replaced by the cruel sword of the seventh century Arab Allah.

The ayatollahs of antiquity attributed superlative, culture-specific, human words to their Allah, whom they referred as "all infinite," "all compassionate," "all merciful," "all powerful," "all knowing," and "all seeing." As some Iranians would say, they "put watermelons under Allah's armpit to puff up his chest." Using these terms was also a smart way to promote the class and status of mullahs in the Iranian society. In assigning all power to Allah, and to themselves the prerogative to carry out that power, they have obtained a free hand.
